How do I prepare for our first design meeting?
Pictures – Magazines; downloaded images; photographs you have taken of houses.
Wish lists – Have everyone in the family produce one…even the kids.
Furniture – Measurements of each piece of furniture you plan to use in your new home.
Financial information – Determine what your budget will be for the project.
What can I expect during the design process?
Jan-Michaels will develop the initial floor plans using the information you have provided and our 25 years of experience designing custom homes and remodeling projects.
Several meetings will take place as we work together to fine tune the design.
Prior to floor plans being completed, furniture is placed to ensure proper placement of design. elements such as windows, doors, outlets, etc…
Once the floor plans have been approved, the exterior design begins.
Upon completion of floor plans and exterior designs, a 3D model will be constructed so you can take it home and spend time evaluating it along with your design.
Jan-Michaels will educate you on available products including eco-friendly products so you can make informed decisions on your product selections
After you sign off on your design and product selections, Jan-Michaels will generate a comprehensive, detailed cost analysis of the entire project so you can compare apples to apples when comparing us to other builders.
How long will the design process take?
This all depends on the homeowner. Everyone is different. Jan-Michaels will never rush you to make decisions. We will work as quickly as you want us to.
What is the cost for designing?
Price is determined by the project, BUT all designs are FREE when you build with Jan-Michaels
